One year and one day after our series on CloudFactory concluded, Nepal was hit with a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. CloudFactory is headquartered in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Over the last week, CEO Mark Sears and the CloudFactory team have found themselves right in the middle of the crisis and relief efforts. Their first order of business was to check on the safety and well-being of their 125 employees, 3000 cloud workers and their families. The team is also helping with the disaster relief efforts that are all around them. Watch this video update from Mark in Nepal:
In an article on this site last year, Mark shared their formula for leadership: LEADERSHIP = CHARACTER X COMPETENCY X COMMUNITY. Their company is an example of what happens when a commitment to building personal character leads to the development of organizational character.
CloudFactory has always had social impact in its DNA, and employees routinely organize community service projects. Now the character of service that they have been exercising with their team over the years has built up the muscles they needed to flex as they serve the community in this time of need.
